What this group is

From the station records

ChargePoint stations are usually owned by the property they sit on — a workplace, a shopping center, a hotel or a municipal lot — and run on the owner's behalf. That is why the network is spread across more cities than any other here, instead of being concentrated along one highway corridor.

The mix is mostly AC. J1772 is listed at the large majority of these stations, CCS1 and CHAdeMO appear on a smaller set, and a few hundred sites reach DC fast speeds. Prices are set per site, so two ChargePoint stations in the same city can bill differently.

Cities with the most

Where the group clusters. A link opens the city's own guide where one exists, otherwise the directory around that city.

Counts are stations, not plugs. A station can list more than one connector or network, so it can appear in more than one hub. Prices are the networks' own tariffs and can change by time of day. Counts from the directory data of October 2026.

Beyond this directory

The operator, in its own words

ChargePoint, Inc. runs ChargePoint. Sells the chargers, the software and the support to the properties that host them, rather than operating stations itself.

ChargePoint is blunt about its place in the chain: “We are not station operators; we are charging solution enablers.” It supplies the hardware, the software and the support, and the property decides whether the station is public, what it charges and when it opens. That is the reason this network is spread across more cities than any other here — every station is a separate host's decision rather than one company's site plan.

The hardware runs from the CP6000 AC station to the Express Plus, a modular DC system the company rates at up to 500 kW per port. Behind them is an open platform — an API, more than 40 integrations and roaming agreements — which is why a ChargePoint station can be reachable through another network's app, and why a handful of records here list a second network beside it.

ChargePoint: common questions

Coverage, power and price

How many ChargePoint charging stations are there?

EVDIR lists 2,825 public stations operated by ChargePoint, across 21 states and 1,024 cities, with 6,691 charging stalls. 1,839 of them are open around the clock.

Who owns or operates ChargePoint charging stations?

ChargePoint, Inc. is the company behind ChargePoint. Sells the chargers, the software and the support to the properties that host them, rather than operating stations itself. The stations themselves are usually owned by the property they sit on, which is why the price and the opening hours differ from site to site.

Where are ChargePoint stations?

The most are in California (819), Texas (346), New York (339). ChargePoint is one of 21 networks with at least 20 public stations in this directory; the smaller operators are listed on the station records they run.

How much does it cost to charge at ChargePoint?

1,643 of its stations quote a per-kWh price, with a median of $0.31 and 1,251 at $0.40 or less. The price is set per site, so a station in one city can cost more than the same network in another.

How fast are ChargePoint chargers?

2,401 stations are Level 2 (under 50 kW), 292 are DC fast at 50 kW or more, and 26 reach 150 kW or more. The power on a station page is the peak the record shows, not a guarantee at the plug.
